Bullseye Outfitting ( Trout Creek )
BULLSEYE OUTFITTING has three main leases on which you will be hunting with our outfitters: The Lolo & Kootenai National Forests, State Forest, and Plum Creek Timber Company Land. Some of the best hunting in this area is on steep mountainous terrain. The hunter who takes time to get into good physical condition will increase his/her chances of success.
Spring Bear hunting is done in late April and early May. The bears are just coming out of hibernation and have beautiful coats of fur.Bow hunting season in Montana coincides with the elk rut. We are very successful calling in large bull elk to our clients. This area is well known for producing large, heavy-horned, Montana bulls. The high bull-to-cow ratios makes the competition among bulls very tense. This creates good calling for the archery hunter. The bulls are vocal and will respond to both cow calls and bugles. It is common to hear several bulls bugling in the same canyon. The majority of our combo Elk hunting and Deer hunting packages are run out of our Montana hunting lodge. The season generally starts the last week of October and runs through the end of November. This allows us to run five hunts with different options to fit each hunter's desires. The first hunt we run out of our camp, followed by our lodge hunts through November. Hunter preference and weather dictate the style of hunt you would choose. Success on our elk hunting normally stays fairly even throughout the season, with weather being the biggest factor. Hunting big muley bucks here in the Lolo National Forest is one of the best kept secrets going these days. With low hunting pressure and big country, odds of getting a big heavy-horned buck are in your favor. Hunting the high country during the rut is an experience a hunter won't soon forget.
