Wilderness Window ( Stevensville )
Come spend some time with us in the heart of one of the Last Best Places on earth. Convieniently located near the oldest settled town in Montana, yet just steps away from the beautiful Bitterroot river. Whether skiing, fishing, rafting, hiking or simply lounging around your luxurious 2500 sqft. custom timberframe home, you'll never want to leave your window on the wilderness.
Built in 2007 by the timber crafters at BSQUARE Timberframes, this unique home is a marvel of beauty, comfort and efficiency. A gas fireplace provides ambiance and heat in the winter, or open the windows and catch the cooling breeze off the Bitterroot River in the summer (air conditioned too, of course). The largest designated wilderness area in the lower 48 states can be seen through the huge floor to ceiling windows. Over 1000 trailheads access this wilderness, all within a few miles of the home. Wildlife abounds in the area, be it moose, deer, elk, wolves, coyotes, mountain lions, goats, sheep, fox and numerous bird species. The Bitterroot River, which offers world class fishing and boating, is a short walk from your doorstep. In addition to hiking trails, many horse-friendly trails access both the Bitterroot and Sapphire mountains. Several lakes in the area provide fishing, boating and skiing opportunites. There are 3 developed hot springs nearby, and several undeveloped ones in the forest. If you are a rockhound, you can pan for sapphires up the Skalkaho road. If winter sports are your thing, 2 very affordable downhill and 2 groomed cross country ski areas are within an hour's drive. We are happy to help you line up fishing guides, horses or horse facilities, caterers, or any other services or items that would help to make your vacation here unforgetable. Clean, Quiet, Comfortable and Close to both town AND the wild.
