Cliffhanger Chalet is our beautiful, comfortable, ski-in/ski-out home on the mountain with its spectacular views of Lone Peak. Cliffhanger is decorated with treasures collected over many years. This stand-alone home features 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms to accommodate multiple families. This home showcases a comfortable living room set up with a cathedral ceiling, a wood fireplace, and an assortment of games and puzzles! Other amenities include a large kitchen that seems to always invite a gathering, a family room downstairs with a gas fireplace and access to a covered deck with a private hot tub.
In the Winter, Big Sky Resort is just a less than a mile drive from the home where some of the biggest and best skiing in America can be had with access to 5800 acres of terrain, 23 lifts, and 234 trails and with an annual snowfall of 400+ inches. In addition, nearby Lone Mountain Ranch offers over 85km of groomed trails to explore and has been voted the #1 Nordic ski resort in North America.
In Summer, you are just minutes from fly fishing, river rafting, golf, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and more. This is the perfect starting and ending point for Yellowstone Park adventures! Ski-in/Ski-out Access |
Ski-in/ski-out to Big Sky Resort. Best for skiers. Possible for children and snowboarders, but ski-in can be more difficult for these groups | Ski-out- Travel down the road to the Thunderwolf Lift | Ski in- Intermediate and Expert take Silverknife to Bear Back Poma | Ski past the bottom of the Poma on the ski trail to Low Dog Road. From here ski the road back to the house | We recommend beginners ski to the Summit Hotel and walk out the front of the hotel and ski the road the whole way back down to Low Dog Road. Silverknife may be too steep for beginners. Note: During periods of melting the road could be exposed and cause the property to lose ski access since the road is necessary for parts of the process. Home is only ski accessible when road is snow-covered.
Air Conditioning:
Please note, most homes in Montana do not have air conditioning. We encourage guests to open the windows at night to enjoy cooler evening temperatures and close them during the day (including curtains/blinds) to keep the cool air in. For your safety, please only open windows when you are present on the property. Additionally, most homes will have fans located in the bedroom closets.
