Moon Rider Ski Lodge is truly ski-in/ ski-out with direct access to the Cascade Lift. This home is situated beside 104.3 acres of pristine open space, offering unmatched beauty, privacy, and tranquility. The owners have paid great attention to every aspect of making this cabin the quintessential Montana log home. The logs are Durfeld, from British Columbia, red cedar, hand peeled, scribed, and hewn to perfection. A V groove between each is filled with lambswool. The creator treated the trees and, ultimately, the logs for the home as though they were pieces of art, which they are. The Native American art collection has been a process for many years, some special pieces are by Gabe Davis of British Columbia, Canada, who also hand-peeled all the logs. The home features the main house and a guest suite, which is situated above the garage, and together, it has five bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms.

As you walk into the main home, you are greeted with the beauty of this home. The interior materials are nature's as much as possible. Skip sawed fir wood floors. Slate tiles on floors and showers, granite counters, copper sinks, marble sink, and a large sink in the kitchen are travertine purchased from Montana Tile and Stone in Bozeman. To the right of the doorway is an open-concept living area with natural light flooding in and breathtaking views of Lone Peak Mountain. The dining room hosts a large round table with seating for up to 8 people. There is also access to the wrap-around porch off of the dining room with access to dining al fresco, with a large outdoor dining table and seating for up to 12 guests. Back inside, you'll head into the living room, with the focal point being the wide-open framing of Lone Peak in the foreground. The other special aspect of this room is the Tulikivi Soap Stone Fireplace, which is built in Finland and assembled at home. The living room provides two couches perfect for game night or watching a movie. Behind the living room is the gorgeous kitchen designed to be a workable, beautiful space, complimenting the logs in the home. The island has seating for five people and creates a space for the whole family to gather in the kitchen. The kitchen has every top-of-the-line appliance you could dream of, with a subzero refrigerator and wine cooler, a Monigram induction stove/ oven, a Wolf oven, a Monigram microwave which also acts as an air fryer and a drawer refrigerator in the wet bar.

Off of the kitchen is the primary bedroom with a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom. There is also a private entrance to the deck. The incredible aspect of every single bedroom is that all the beds and bedside stands are custom-created by Russell VanDyken of Aspen Extremes in Belgrade. The logs are reclaimed from the deadfall Aspen of the Gallatin Forests, hand-peeled and sanded to their current shapes. The rocks are from the Gallatin River, and the wooden frame is from reclaimed materials as well. The bathroom has a double vanity with a slate tile shower and a walk-in closet.

Next, we'll make our way up to the loft area. The chandeliers in the entry and living room and the sconces in the stairway to the loft are custom-made for the home by Rocky Halbert, currently of Whitefish, Montana, and the antler lighting is by Fish's Antler Art, Bozeman. The loft has another living space with a wrap-around sectional where you can enjoy a quiet place to read. There is also desk space equipped with a computer monitor, a printer, and lots of space to work if needed.

Let's go to the lower level of the house, where there are two more bedrooms, two bathrooms, a laundry room, and access to the hot tub. The first bedroom features a king-size bed and a queen bunk bed. This room is perfect for the children to share as there are lots of bed options and space for the children to play games. There is also an en-suite bathroom with double vanities, a standing shower, and a walk-in closet. The second bedroom has a queen-size bed with a desk and a TV. There is also an en-suite bathroom with a single vanity and a standing shower. Located right outside the door is a separate entrance to a jetted tub. Down the hall from the bedrooms is the entrance to the hot tub, where you can enjoy the chilly winter months comfortably out in nature.

We'll head back inside to the main level, where we will have access to a powder room. Follow the hallway until you reach the garage. There is a double garage with one side having parking for one car and an in-home gym with a peloton bike and hand weights on the other side. There is also a full ski locker and boot dryers for you to put your ski equipment overnight. You also have one of two entrances to the Guest Suite from here. There is a door by the weights with a staircase leading up to the suite. Or you can take the side entrance from the outside. Past the exterior of the garage is a walkway to the stairs leading up to the suite. Before the stairs is a ski rack to place your skis on in between runs. Make your way up the stairs to a serene 225-square-foot deck that provides an unobstructed view of Lone Peak, making it an ideal setting for peaceful yoga sessions or quiet reflection.

Head into the home, and you have a mud room to leave your shoes and jackets in. One half of the suite provides a spacious living area, and the other half hosts the two remaining bedrooms. The living room has an updated kitchen with laundry machines, a dining room that has seating for 6 people, a wrap-around couch to cuddle up on and watch a movie along with a full bathroom. Additionally, the suite features a charming balcony, spacious enough for a bistro table and two chairs, offering yet another stunning vantage point to soak in the mountain views. The first bedroom has a queen-size bed with a loft area providing two additional twin-sized beds, 2 walk-in closets and incredible views of Andesite Mountain. The second bedroom also has a queen-size bed with a loft area providing two additional twin-sized beds. Outside the second bedroom is the last bathroom.

As if the beauty of this home hasn't mesmerized you enough, this home is situated perfectly next to the Cascade Lift. With a trail leading to the run for ski-out and a trail leading to the home for ski-in, you have direct access to premier skiing! The runs from this house are perfect for all skiing types with both green and blue runs accessible from the home.
