Summer in the Flathead Valley

Winter in the Flathead Valley

During the winter months, the Flathead Valley is famous for its world-class skiing and wide range of winter activities. There are two ski resorts in the area including the local favorite Whitefish Mountain Resort (pictured above) and the family-friendly Blacktail Mountain Ski Area. Whitefish and Columbia Falls vacation rentals are your best bet if you want to ski Whitefish Mountain Resort, while Lakeside or Bigfork properties will put you close to Blacktail Mountain Ski Area.

Whitefish Mountain Resort has increasingly been recognized as one of the top mid-size ski resorts in the nation and offers a great mix of intermediate and advanced terrain.

Many of our guests fly into Glacier International Airport which is conveniently located in Kalispell, Montana and offers many direct and connecting flights. Read about direct flights on our blog! We recommend arranging a car rental ahead of time, so you can make the quick drive to your rental once you land.

If you plan to fly into the Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport, be aware that this is a five-hour drive that can take longer during the winter. If you need assistance arranging transportation be sure to contact our office in Bigfork or Whitefish for guidance.
