Welcome to Powder and Par!

Montana has a way of slowing you down. This place helps.

The kitchen was built for real cooking: granite counters, stainless appliances, and an island that pulls people in. Someone always ends up perched there with a drink while dinner comes together, which is half the point. It opens into the dining and living area without interruption, so conversations don't stop when you leave the room.

The stone fireplace anchors the space. Decorative, yes, but it gives the room exactly the kind of character that wood ceilings and hardwood floors were made to sit alongside. It's cozy in the way that just happens. The bunk room is quietly one of the best features. Full-size beds, top and bottom, with actual stairs to the upper bunk. Kids love it. Adults on a ski trip love it too.

Then there's the deck. Lone Peak straight ahead, golf course below. It's the kind of view that makes you set your phone down and just look for a while.

Big Sky Resort is minutes away. Yellowstone sits an hour south. The Gallatin runs through the valley if you fish. There's a lot to do out here, which is kind of the whole reason people come.

This is a good home base. The kind you'll want to come back to.

Winter
Big Sky Resort is the biggest skiing in America, and it earns that title every single year. With 5,800 skiable acres, 4,350 feet of vertical drop, and an average of 400+ inches of snowfall annually, it delivers for every level of skier and rider. When you are ready to step off the slopes, the historic Lone Mountain Ranch has 85+ kilometers of groomed Nordic trails through the wilderness, voted the #1 cross-country ski resort in North America. Beyond that, Yellowstone National Park, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, dog sledding, ice fishing, and world-class spa experiences are all within easy reach.

Summer
The mountains do not slow down when the snow melts. Within minutes you have world-class fly fishing, river rafting, golf, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and zip-lining at your doorstep. Follow the scenic Gallatin River along historic Highway 191 and you are at the west entrance of Yellowstone National Park in just 45 minutes. Stay long enough and you will find free concerts, farmers markets, and weekly events scattered throughout the season.
